Set within the farm, the accommodation provides a peaceful haven. Yet there are so many local activities available. The contrast of countryside and coast provide a spectacular backdrop. Families with younger children will have local sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Saunton, and Woolacombe. All weather attractions like the ‘Milky Way’ ,or the ‘Big Sheep’ are a must for those experiences which children always seem to remember as the highlight to their stay. There are indoor swimming pools/leisure centres at Northam and Barnstaple. For teenagers and the more adventurous is the surfers paradise of Croyde Bay. Other activities within easy access are freshwater fishing at a local reservoir (easy/safe walking distance from the farm), Sport venues are aplenty and a trip to the nature reserve of Lundy Island, leaving from Bideford Quay. Other places which should never be missed include the picturesque coastal village of Clovelly with its cobbled main street leading down to the harbour . Dartington Crystal produce beautiful pieces of glassware for sale and visitors are able to tour the factory at Torrington. Garden lovers will enjoy roaming the R.H.S. Rosemoor Gardens with their everchanging and developing gardens at Torrington, the gardens at Docton Mill, and the renowned Dr. Smarts garden holding the national Astilbe collection. There are also plenty of properties for the N.T. lovers to view in the Devon area. |
